Immune System

A healthy immune system can prevent diseases & help our body stay healthy. However, when deprived of sufficient nutrients, the immune system becomes weak & unable to defend against cancer & other diseases therefor we fall sick. The human body requires a constant supply of nutrients. When one is healthy, balanced nutrition can help prevent illness; when ill, adequate nourishment aids in recovery.

The Immune System is a precious gift that nature has bestowed us. It can be likened to a powerful army designed to protect our health. At any given second, the immune system efficiently mobilizes different immune battalions to launch a complex and concerted attack against the invisible enemies - disease-causing pathogens, such as viruses, that threaten to wreck havoc in our bodies. Researchers have worked hard to develop drugs that boast higher efficacy in fighting newer and deadlier diseases. But drugs cannot effectively substitute the complicated functions of our immune system.

Strong soldiers are vital to an army's survival. Similarly, a strong immune system can better defend the body against constant threats. The immune system needs daily plant "ammunition" - wholesome plant foods containing disease-fighting nutrients such as polysaccharides, antioxidants and phytochemicals - to stay in tip-top condition. It may be too late to seek such nutrients when we fall sick.

Remember to take care of your immune system so that it can take care of you.
